SVC TRAILBLAZER REPORT: DIVINE MIND AT WORK PROJECT

SVC President Phil Sutton’s interest in Economic Development & Policy has always been there. It was particularly piqued when ARCO closed the Berkeley Pit in Butte and the Anaconda Smelter on 1 October 1980, causing 30% unemployment in his home state of Montana.

 

Montana has never really recovered its industrial and manufacturing base since then; would lose its second seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for 30 years; and is the impetus for the political transformation in Montana from a reliably Democratic state to a profoundly Republican one.

 

At the time, SVC’s President had a double major in Communication Studies and Political Science-Economics at the University of Montana. He was also Associated Students of the University of Montana President and his fellow students actually believed he could do something about the near doubling of tuition because of the Butte-Anaconda closure.

 

By the time SVC’s President graduated in June 1982, the entire U.S. Economy had imploded, and it was the worst year in American History to graduate from high School or college in terms of jobs availability. More Americans were homeless, unemployed and starving in December 1982 and January 1983 than ever before or since. This was the America SVC’s President came of age in and explains why he has always been so devoted to better economic conditions not only for Americans but everyone on earth.

 

Now decisions have been made and are being made that will return America to the early 1980’s from an economic viewpoint. The Creator has carefully guided SVC’s President and all he has learned is being brought to bear to the situation and bring the world to a Peaceful conclusion by the time Jesus returns.
