“SAYING GOODBYE”

”Men like Jack and Bobby Kennedy and your Father are Dreamers. They see a wonderful World none of the rest of us are capable of envisioning and it scares the hell out of the old guard. They see everyone sharing in God’s abundance...” – Angelica Sutton to her Twins. (https://www.svctrailblazerpublications.com/family-values-millennial-dream) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuUtu2xRGgY)

On his 18th Birthday, SVC President Phil Sutton’s Mother gave him a small plaque of Rudyard Kipling’s poem, “If” and large picture frame plaque of Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream” speech. She knew her eldest Son and Child was an idealist and where that natural youthful idealism would take him.

To this day, Phil encourages young people at SVC Public Policy Forums to never lose their youthful idealism “for that is where the solutions come.” He certainly hasn’t. On January 25, 2025, Carolyn Anderson died estranged from her visionary Son and he admits it stings more than he thought it would.

During the PPF at the Roosevelt Presidential Library, it was recounted how FDR reacted when he learned his Mother Sara had died. It was exactly three months before the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the President of the United States was temporarily emotionally and mentally incapacitated because his grief was so strong. Phil is related to 17 Presidents by blood and two by marriage, but none directly. FDR is his closest Presidential relative.

Phil’s Eldest Daughter and Child Dr. Alicia Ford chimed in and stated that what has always bothered her is that she was never able to say goodbye to her Mother at age 3 and she believes that is what is bothering her Father so much now. It was a miracle Patti somehow got her little darling out of the cabin where she was later murdered. For 26 years Phil believed Alicia had perished with her Mother before she came back into his life.

Then Wife #2 and SVC’s Vice President commented that it was not his Mother or Patti he needed to say good bye to because he will see them again, but the tortured little boy deep inside him who had been the depository for all the grief he has known in his life and it was finally time to say good bye to and bury him.

Angelica recalled how desperately Phil wanted a loving Family when they first married and after his miserable Childhood and losing his own first family the way he did. This made Phil the doting Husband and Father he has been to her and their Twins.

The audience of nearly two hundred million People over SVC-TV and SVC-TV International then began to respond to the unexpected topic of discussion. It was a powerful moment!

It is positively eerie that Phil used the term “cutting the tether” in his explanation of the day he left his Family for college in 1978 just three weeks ago when SVC-TV covered Jimmy Carter’s State Funeral.

Cutting the tether is a term well-known to those who have achieved the Command Ranks in the U.S. Navy as President Carter and SVC’s President had. It pertains to the test all Commanders are given to discern whether or not that they are capable of making the decision to “cut the tether” that could cost a few men’s lives in order to save all the others under their Command. Neither one ever had to make that decision, but they are trained to do so just in case. What a horrible decision to have to make!

Admiral Boyd DeForest “Frosty” Meyers (Ret), Phil’s TOP GUN Co-Pilot, suggested Phil had in fact made those kind of decisions in rejoining the Navy in 1990 and in Civilian life later in that decade.

Most people would not have returned to the Armed Services to fight a war like Phil did. Most would think they had done their bit and that would be it. Few Naval Aviators have achieved such high Performance Ratings as Phil did during the Persian Gulf War and it was one of the reasons why he was tapped to act as the Naval Liaison after the war with all the unfortunate clashes he had with Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden and their surrogates then and since.

Frosty believes it was a Freudian Slip that Phil used “cut the tether” in story about being emancipated from his nuclear Family on the day the Camp David Peace Accords were signed and amply explains what he did in 1994. He decided to leave the whole mess behind and start a new life. Later that year Phil’s dream of writing a “how to book for America” was rekindled which had laid dormant for 15 years.

Then many Democrats began to encourage Phil to run for Montana Governor in 1996. He ultimately decided not to because of the enormous amounts of money that would have to be raised to run a viable campaign. Instead, he founded SVC.

Then Phil decided to rollback to Regional Manager with Primerica from Regional Vice President and place his lucrative Financial Services Practice on hold. Phil would pursue his PhD in Business Administration (now DBA) at the University of Oklahoma. He was under a unique Scholarship Program. The OU Press would Publish his book and pay his advance in the form of tuition.

A heartbroken and devastated man chose to make those decisions in the 1990’s that few would make, but Phil never gave up on his Dreams and with the impact and timing of his book, Revival of the American Dream, through the development of SVC and his International Contacts, he has demonstratively altered the course of Human History for the better.

SVC looks forward to the Final Kibosh of the American Organized Terrorism Opprobrium and the true enforcement of International Law. Think of it: instead of solving geopolitical conflicts through war, the International Community simply arrests the offending National Leaders and ends their reign of terror right there. That day is soon to be upon us because of the sacrifices of SVC’s President and his current Family!!!!!!!
